Last year's Hockey 8s was so successful the organisers have decided to do it again, but this year for three Friday nights, from 18 October.

Hockey received fantastic media exposure last year and the event raised approximately $18,000 for the Albury Wodonga Carers' Accommodation and junior hockey development.

In a few days you will be able to nominate online. There is no nomination fee this year but we would encourage every player who is selected in a team to donate $20. A very small cost for three weeks of great fun.

This year we plan to run the event over three weeks, two weeks of round robin competition and a week of finals, together with 2-3 mid-week training sessions prior to the games.

Last year everyone who nominated was selected for a team, however, as the event was such a success we may need to close nominations early, so please nominate as soon as possible. However, you must be over the age of 14 and be playing senior hockey to nominate. You will have the chance to play with State League and first grade players from different clubs.

Team Captains will select their players at a private draft and teams will be announced at the Launch Night on 17 September at the Newmarket Hotel.

You can nominate online or pick up a nomination form from the Albury Hockey Centre, either at the office or from the canteen, or see one of the Directors who will point you in the right direction.

The Naming Rights Raffle will be drawn at the Launch Night. Tickets to go into this draw are $100. If you know anyone who is in business and you think might like to purchase a ticket to have the chance of becoming this year's Naming Rights Sponsor, please contact Ross Maggs and he will get some tickets to you.
